About 1,500 student-athletes competed at the daylong 24th annual Irvine Junior Games track and field competition Sunday.
The event helps support the Irvine Children’s Fund, which provides before- and after-school childcare services at 22 district elementary schools.
Fourth- through eighth-grade students from Irvine Unified School District competed at Irvine Stadium. About a dozen students participated in the Adapted Physical Education events, which were held for kids with disabilities.
