Irvine Child Care Locations

Between 1984 and 1989, modular facilities were established on five school sites through funding provided by private corporate contributions and ICF fundraising. In 1989, additional child care sites were funded through a $1.5 million bond. In 1997, a new child care site was added with CDBG funding. ICF also raised funds to complete the ADA upgrades needed to make all child care sites handicap accessible. Before and after school child care is provided on all 29 IUSD elementary school sites. Having achieved a goal of establishing child care sites, ICF redirected its fundraising efforts to the provision of scholarships in addition to the expansion and maintenance of the child care sites. Funds raised are used to continue to expand and improve before and after school child care on school sites for all children and to provide child care scholarships to low-income, working families to make these licensed programs accessible to families needing help.
